Support & Encouragement

What a blessing to receive the encouragement and support of so many blessed friends as the news of our transition traverses the network of our family, friends and church community. We certainly are blessed and have been greatly encouraged. I will treasure your challenging words of support:
***********

Dear Friend, Wow! Such big changes--with such excitement and opportunity. . . You are uniquely positioned to influence a generation of eager Christian leaders--sounds amazing.

I read through your blog. First, although you certainly stand out in the picture for obvious reasons, as I gazed at the picture the thought came that you belong in that picture. . . . Thus, it will be easier to remember you two in prayer . . . Thank you for all the ways that you have been a blessing . . . and an encouragement . . . over the years. May our Lord richly bless you as you continue to be open to His leading!

*************

We are very pleased by the opportunity for you to serve in Africa. Let me say we were surprised. We never saw it coming. I was hoping you would shift gears sometime and teach but who would have thought that Africa would be so honored to receive both you and Miriam? We are behind you and are in agreement with this move. Our prayers too are with you and we will keep in touch, even as you prepare. May the Lord order your every step.

To those God dearly loves, He molds, disciplines and them works through to greatly impact the world through His glory. what a blessing to know that God loves you and Miriam so . . . and what a blessing to think of how Nigeria will be impacted because of your servanthood.

**********

I should let you know that you and Doug have really challenged us. . . . we started talking about what the church is doing for peace, and have had many conversations about how perhaps we should get our of our comfort zones and practice what we preach. . . . we have looked into Christian Peacemaker Teams and we've talked a great deal about your 3 year commitment to MCC. I don't know where we will be as we continue to discern together, but we want to live our lives as faithful followers of Christ. . . .We will just have to see where God is taking us on this journey. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for the example you are to us. We will continue to pray for you in the days and weeks to come.

***************
Miriam and I thank you for your continued prayer support and words of encouragement. While our prayer concerns seem to be huge requests for miracles, it is with a sense of God's affirmation that we continue the journey On the Road to Nigeria.
