Prayer Update for October

What a wonderful week the last full week of September proved to be for me. I was gathered with the Greater Fort Wayne Pastors at our annual Prayer Summit at Camp Geneva on Lake Michigan. Our four day appointment with God was a marvelous time of worship.

As some of you will remember our only agenda is to worship and wait on the Lord. The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed a couple of very awe-inspiring sunsets over the lake. What a blessing. There were some very significant moments of encountering God in prayer. I was greatly encouraged by my colleagues as they offered their support and encouragement in the midst of the sadness of recognizing the changes coming in our relationships.
  • I came home from the retreat to sign the listing documents for our real estate and on Friday evening the sign went up on the lawn. It was a solemn moment with tears as we thought about some of the memories created in this place over the past thirteen and half years. I imagine there will be many more of those moments in the next three months.

  • We have been encouraged by the initial responses of leadership at North Leo encouraging us to continue our membership at North Leo and their willingness to adopt us as their international representatives. What a blessing.

  • Of course the events of these past weeks on Wall St. etc. have left many folks ill at ease. What should we expect from the markets? How will it effect our finances? We are trying to sort out whether it is wise to have our assets liquid or should we perhaps think of keeping our real estate in this market? We will test the market as a way to seek the Lord's leading and protection. Should we get a reasonable offer we would take that as the leading of the Lord to go liquid. We want to be wise and discerning in these matters.
