It was 103 degrees in Abujab today!
I only know that because I was tracking its weather for the past six months. Of course, during much of this time we were expecting to arrive in Abjub today. As you know by now that is not going to happen. There are mixed emotions about all of that.
This past month has been a slow process in coming to acceptance of our decision to withdraw from our plan to serve in Nigeria with MCC. Each passing day since our decision has given us an increased sense of peace about our decision.
We have spent the greater parts of the last two weeks with Sherah-Leigh & BJ in Apple Creek. We visited Charissa and Mim's siblings in PA over Super Bowl weekend and then traveled Monday to Apple Creek, Ohio. They were finally able to close on their new property. We have been busy painting, cleaning and preparing for moving in. Miriam was making curtains and we have unpacked a lot of boxes, getting the kitchen organized. They hope to move the larger furniture and beds in on this Saturday (14th). We are also pleased to announce that they have accepted an offer on their property in Virgina. The closing is slated for sometime in March.
On February 24 I am scheduled to begin a six to nine month TB treatment plan with the Allen County CDC Health Clinic. They will closely monitor the side effects and my response to treatment to make sure that I am able to handle the drug.
We continue to prayerful wait to see what God might have for us. The possibility of an interim assignment is in the works. We have also had a couple of inquiries regarding our availability for a long term permanent assignment. So we are carefully engaging in some interviews to see what door(s) the Lord may be opening for us.
We have heard from many of you and we appreciate you continuing prayer support. We have felted very loved and cared for by the numerous notes, e-mails, calls and invitations for lunch or dinner. Please know that your thoughtfulness is gratefully appreciated.
